Max (Science Sunday)

We have added another member to our school family. Max is his? name, he is a dwarf rabbit. Max has been with us for about a month and the kids can't get enough of him. Max has taught the children quite a few things. For one they have been more gentle and observant of their body movements, and if I knew that a bunny could change the inside voice levels overnight he would have been brought home a long time ago.

Max gets a lot of attention from Lil. Here Lil is working with the Parts of a rabbit cards.

Here are some facts about rabbits.
  • Rabbits can live as long as 10 years.
  • Rabbits can run up to 35 miles.
  • The ears of a rabbit can turn in any direction.
  • Rabbits have two powerful hind legs that only move together at the same time.
  • A rabbit twitches its nose if it is curious or scared ( when the children learned about this, their voice levels changed drastically to a normal inside voice and they have kept this level).
  • Rabbits have 28 teeth that are always growing.
