Life Cycle of a Pine Tree

The children haven't been in the Botany area lately. So I thought it was time to add a special touch. I added two new plants, an  European Tree, and a Norfolk Island Pine. I also added a tablecloth.

This week I will be reading Be A Friend to Trees. It talks about what trees give us, and how trees are homes for some animals.

We will discuss the life cycle of a Pine Tree. Here are two activities that I will have on the shelf. Both of the  activities are cut, and paste.
                                                              A life cycle wheel .

                                                             Sequencing.

For an extra bonus, to make sure the children are at least entering the Botany area I have this grow a tree. We will add water and observe its' growth. I will place this grow a tree right next to our two new plants.

I am linking this post to Science Sunday hosted by Adventures In Mommydom where you can see children participating in science activities.

  1. I love your tree works! How cool! Where did you find that life cycle of a pine tree wheel?
Have you heard of the song C is for Conifer by They Might Be Giants? It is on their album, Here come the ABCs. Since you are doing trees and are covering pine trees, you might like their song. Think that you can find a video clip of it on You tube, too.
Thanks for popping by my blog and leaving a comment, too.
Have a nice week this week:) Colleen

  2. Ooooohhhhh, I love the pine tree life cycle. A blogging friend of mine covered pine trees as part of her study of Maine, and I thought that was a very cool idea.
